about

The Day Passes Like a Song is our first new record for three years. We will be releasing two more new songs in the next week too.

Recorded in Paris and London, The Day Passes Like a Song is about hearing late-night music calling to you from cellar bars on your way home. It features Steve White (formerly of the Style Council) on drums. We have always loved the Style Council's own Anglo-French vibe and so we asked Steve to play for us; he enjoyed our songs and it was amazing for us to have him involved.

lyrics

The Day Passes Like A Song

I made a love song for the city - not for the place I'm from, for the place I belong. Hometime, downtown: I'm thinking out loud: I'm here, I'm ready. Do you want me now?

I want to know all the places to go. All the secret shows and tiny bars of a million hometime hearts. I have been foolish but I am not a fool. I was looking for my part of the crowd and sometimes I fell down. But I got up and I can see now: it's never too late to be the person you were always meant to be. it's never too late to change your mind.

To be so much at home, so very far from home, so much at home, so very far away from home.

Whispering from the midnight bar on your way home. The greatest music you never heard, listen you can almost hear it, listen you can almost hear the words: it's never too late to be the person you were always meant to be, it's never too late to change your mind.
